Temporary Covered Walkway Rentals

COVERED WALKWAYS

Temporary Covered Walkway Rentals

Keep foot traffic dry, safe, and moving past construction — with a clean covered path installed in hours, not days.

I Overview

A covered walkway routes pedestrians safely past a work zone while keeping them out of the weather. When a lobby is being rebuilt, a facade is under scaffolding, or two buildings need a protected connection, Zoe installs a tented walkway sized to your path — with sidewalls, lighting, and ground protection as needed — and rents it for as long as the project runs.

III The Details

How the job works.

Sized to the path, not a catalog

Walkways are built from 10-ft and wider tent sections run end to end to match your route — a short entrance run or a long connector between buildings. We keep ADA-compliant clear width and headroom so the path stays accessible, and add sidewalls to block wind-driven rain where the route is exposed.

Installed on hardscape, safely

Most commercial walkways sit on concrete or asphalt where staking is impossible. We ballast with weighted anchors rather than stakes, so nothing penetrates the deck or slab, and we route around doors, drains, and existing traffic so the site keeps functioning during install.

Lit and weatherized for real use

Add string or fixture lighting for early-morning and evening foot traffic, sidewalls and gutters to manage runoff between sections, and ground matting where the surface is uneven. For cold-weather projects we can heat enclosed sections.

IV FAQs

Common questions.

How wide can a covered walkway be?

We build walkways from 10 ft wide and up, running tent sections end to end for any length. We keep ADA-compliant clear width and headroom so the path stays accessible throughout the project.

How is it anchored on concrete or asphalt?

On hardscape we use weighted ballast anchors instead of stakes — nothing penetrates the slab or deck. On grass or soil we can stake where permitted.

Can it stay up for the whole project?

Yes. Covered walkways are commonly rented by the week or month for the duration of a renovation. We quote long-term rates and handle any permit renewals.

Do covered walkways need a permit?

In DC, temporary structures over 400 sq ft generally require a permit with drawings and a site plan; walkways in public space also involve DDOT. Smaller runs often fall under that threshold. We advise on the requirement and provide drawings when needed.

Can you keep the entrance open during install?

Yes. We schedule installs around your operating hours and phase the work so pedestrian access is maintained.
